Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival

The Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival is a comprehensive event integrating the elements of Wushu, or kung fu, martial arts, tourism and cultural exchanges. The festival has been held 12 times since.

The 12th festival started Oct 19, 2018 in Dengfeng, Henan province, attracting more than 2,200 kung fu masters from 65 countries. The four-day festival saw 240 teams from around the world taking part in the event.

With a history of more than 1,500 years, Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng appears often in movies and novels and was the country's first professional institution for learning martial arts.
