Pasture migration by Kazakh people. Every spring and autumn, Kazakh people pack their belongings and head to different pastures, with men shepherding livestock on horses and women carrying daily necessities. Pasture migration is a way of living and production for nomads. Every year they go on long-distance migrations to new pastures. Kazakh herders in the Fuyun county area of Xinjiang, China, maintain this traditional way of production, moving from winter pastures to summer pastures in the spring and from summer pastures to winter pastures in the fall.
