North China's Hebei province has planned to carry out more than 1,100 post-flood reconstruction projects in the field of water conservancy, aiming to improve its overall flood control capacity.

The province suffered from severe flooding in early August after heavy rains, with many houses, infrastructure and water resources projects damaged.

The planned projects include reservoirs, flood detention areas, sluice and gate structures, monitoring and warning facilities, and projects ruined by the flood, according to Cui Zhiqing, director of the Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources.

After implementing these projects, the effective flood control capacity of the province will be significantly enhanced, and Hebei will see further improvement in monitoring, forecasting, and early warning capabilities, providing strong support for ensuring flood control safety, Cui was quoted as saying by Hebei Daily.

He made the remarks during a national symposium on the country's water conservancy planning in Shijiazhuang on Tuesday.

The country has allocated two batches of national bond funds to Hebei, involving 424 projects with an investment arrangement of 39.58 billion yuan ($5.5 billion), Hebei Daily reported.
