According to T.Y. Lin International, the design company, the Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge that links Dadukou and Ba'nan districts in Chongqing has a length of 3.6 kilometers. Its main bridge is said to be the world's largest span vehicle and railway dual-purpose steel truss cable-stayed bridge — the upper part is an eight-lane two-way urban expressway, and the lower part carries the city monorail. The bridge opened to traffic on Jan 24, 2022.

On Xiaohongshu, a lifestyle-sharing platform, a large number of photography enthusiasts have uploaded photos and videos of the tower on the Ba'nan side because it has a better perspective, using hashtags like #The Chongqing Interstellar# and #Another perspective to 8D Chongqing#.

"The bridge is a scientific and artistic interpretation of Chongqing's rich water culture, as well as a creation inspired by architecture and culture," said Wu Qing, a bridge designer from T.Y. Lin International.

Wu said the bottom parts of the bridge towers were designed with hollow circles, so they seem to keep track of time over the cosmopolitan riverbanks.

Li Minna, Wu's colleague, added this structural design is aesthetically pleasing and economical. Moreover, the anti-collision devices installed on the bridge towers' bottom, which look like armor plates, give the bridge a futuristic appeal.
