China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT)

The China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China, takes place every September in Xiamen, China.

Themed around "Introducing FDI" and "Going Global," CIFIT focuses on nationality and internationality, investment negotiation and investment policy promotion, coordinated development of both national and regional economies, as well as economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait.

CIFIT is currently China's only international investment promotion event aimed at facilitating bilateral investment. It is also the largest global investment event approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. CIFIT has the following major components: an investment and trade exhibition, the International Investment Forum (IIF), a series of seminars on hot investment issues, and investment project matchmaking symposiums.

Hosted at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, CIFIT is organized by the Fujian Provincial Government, the Xiamen Municipal Government, and the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce.

CIFIT not only showcases the investment environments, policies, projects, and corporate products in all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China, it also attracts investment promotion agencies from more than 40 countries and regions. It offers optimum opportunities for business people at home and abroad to get an overview of the investment climate in China and other countries. It also provides them with a one-stop shopping service for multilateral investment cooperation, helping them to select from the widest range of investment projects and business partners.

The first CIFIT was hosted in 1997, with 6,200 exhibitors from 52 countries and regions participating, generating $6.22 billion in deals. The 2019 CIFIT ran from Sept 8-11 in 2019, with 15,000 exhibitors from 130 countries and regions inking 2,100 deals worth $37.5 billion.
