BEIJING -- China will hold its fourth traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) expo in the northwestern province of Gansu, a health official said Friday.
The fourth China (Gansu) Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Expo is scheduled for Aug 25 to 28 in Longxi county, said Liu Borong, deputy director of the Gansu provincial health commission, at a press conference in Beijing.
The expo, with a focus on high-quality development in the TCM industry, will consist of a series of events such as forums, exhibitions and trade fairs, said Liu.
Gansu has been building a national pilot zone for TCM industry development, and the expo will offer a glimpse at the progress the province has made in this regard.
As a national platform for showcasing the latest developments in TCM and matching supply with demand, the expo has played a significant role in advancing China's TCM industry, said Qi Guixin, an official from the National Health Commission.
Stringent epidemic control measures will be in place during the expo, said Liu.
