Wuhan University in the capital of Hubei province enjoys the reputation of being the "most beautiful university in China" due to its simple and elegant buildings surrounded by green mountains and Donghu Lake.

Cherry blossoms at Wuhan University go viral online every spring. Nowadays, cherry blossoms have become a name card for the university and Wuhan city.

The cherry blossom trees were presented to the university by late premier Zhou Enlai in 1972. There are now more than 1,000 cherry blossom trees planted at Wuhan University, decorating the area with a vast sea of cherry blossoms every spring.
