Ningbo opens registration for marathon

Ningbo will host the 2026 Ningbo Marathon on March 15, welcoming 27,000 runners along an upgraded route through the heart of the city.

The race will open registration on Dec 6 at 10:00 am. Following the 2025 edition that drew 20,000 participants, the marathon returns to Ningbo's urban districts, offering runners springtime scenery and a chance to explore the city on foot.

The 2026 event will allow up to 12,000 runners in the full marathon and 15,000 in the half marathon. Organizers promise enhanced race-day services to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for every participant.

Registration will close on Dec 13 at 6:00 pm, with lottery results announced on Dec 21. Entry fees are 180 yuan ($25.45) for the full marathon and 150 yuan for the half.

Ningbo is preparing to celebrate endurance, determination, and the spirit of the marathon.
