Residents of Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, are embracing a growing network of neighborhood parks that offer sports, leisure, and green views just steps from their homes.

As autumn settles in, parks across Jiaxing have become vibrant destinations. Tall Chinese tallow and sweetgum trees frame Fanli Lake Park with bright seasonal colors reflected on the water. Renmin Park remains lively with morning tai chi sessions, while the soon-to-open Jiaxing Central Park has already drawn families exploring slides and collecting leaves. At Xinan Lake Ecological Park, an elevated red walkway offers a panoramic view of the shifting autumn landscape.

Anchored in principles that emphasize water, landscape, space, industry, and people, the city is gradually forming a park-centred urban landscape. This year's priorities included projects such as Pinghu Lake Park, Xinde Park, and Shuangxi Lake Park.

To date, Jiaxing has 150 hectares of urban green space, 12 parks, seven pocket parks, 21.23 kilometers of greenways and over 7,000 square meters of vertical greenery this year, further improving service coverage and landscape quality. The city is drafting its next urban green space plan through 2035 to build a more connected ecological network.
