The museum houses six permanent exhibition halls. "Epic of Jiuyuan" chronicles Baotou's ancient history and culture; "Stories in Stone" displays ancient rock art from Inner Mongolia; "Northwestern Metropolis" highlights Baotou's modern history; "Pearl of the North" focuses on the city's contemporary history; "Tales of the Deer City" explores Baotou's folk culture; and "Buddhi Craftsmanship" showcases the intricate Thangka art of Inner Mongolia.
