The Hulunbuir Museum is a comprehensive cultural institution with four distinct branches: the Hulunbuir Historical Museum, the Hulunbuir National Museum, the Hulunbuir Museum of Natural History, and the under-construction Inner Mongolia Mongolian Origin Museum. Together, these museums offer an immersive exploration of the region's rich history, cultural traditions, and natural wonders.

Hulunbuir Historical Museum

Address: 100 meters northwest of Xuefulu Middle School, Mandula Street, Hailar district, Hulunbuir city

The museum's architecture, inspired by the iconic Gaxian Cave – a national-level cultural heritage site – and the traditional Mongolian yurt, reflects Hulunbuir's cultural identity. With over 7,000 artifacts, the museum primarily features locally excavated items, supplemented by collected pieces. Its 11 exhibition halls house 2,866 artifacts, providing a comprehensive narrative of Hulunbuir's history from ancient times to the present. The exhibits emphasize the interactions and cultural integration of northern Chinese ethnic groups while promoting an ecological philosophy of harmony between humanity and nature.

Hulunbuir National Museum

This museum is designed as a Han-Tibetan courtyard-style building with a total exhibition space of 7,773 square meters. It showcases artifacts representing the diverse ethnic groups native to Hulunbuir, including traditional clothing, tools, household items, religious objects, manuscripts, and musical instruments. The museum's collection features 14,079 items, including 396 precious cultural relics, vividly portraying the region's rich ethnic heritage.

Hulunbuir Museum of Natural History

Address: West suburbs, Hulunbuir city

This museum, which spans 16,646 square meters, boasts a striking architectural design with three interlaced spaces aligned along curved axes. The exhibits delve into Hulunbuir's natural history, highlighting its biodiversity and ecological changes and providing visitors with an in-depth understanding of the region's environmental evolution.

Inner Mongolia Mongolian Origin Museum

This museum will focus on the origins of the Mongolian people, the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368) imperial tombs, and the history of northern nomadic tribes. It will serve as a center for research, artifact preservation, and database development, enhancing the understanding of Mongolia's cultural and historical roots.
