The Inner Mongolia Museum of Natural History is the autonomous region's first large-scale, comprehensive natural history museum. It combines collection, exhibition, scientific research, science education, and cultural outreach.
The museum has a total area of 48,544 square meters, including 21,795 sq m of exhibition space and a 13,500 sq m outdoor mineral park. Its open layout integrates indoor and outdoor spaces.
It is renowned for showcasing Inner Mongolia's natural resources, highlighting northern China's ecological characteristics, and serving as a platform for international exchange by representing the natural landscapes shared across the Arctic Circle.
Visitors can explore five main exhibition halls: Magnificent Inner Mongolia, Ancient Inner Mongolia, Fertile Inner Mongolia, Green Inner Mongolia, and The Land of Dinosaurs.
With over 40,000 artifacts and specimens on display, the museum offers a fascinating journey to uncover the natural world's mysteries, marvel at ancient life forms, and experience the magic of creation without leaving Hohhot.
