The Volcano Engine Computing Power Center project has officially launched in Horinger New Area of Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The Horinger New Area Land and Space Planning Committee recently approved the "Volcano Engine Inner Mongolia Horinger Computing Power Center Phase I Project Design Plan" during its 19th meeting of 2024.

The first phase of the project, covering 119,684 square meters with a total construction area of 146,279 square meters, will feature four data center buildings, a 110 kV substation, a supporting complex building, and two underground water tanks. Upon completion, the center will have a 100 MW rack power capacity, playing a pivotal role in meeting massive data analysis and storage demands. It is expected to accelerate the concentration of the digital economy industry in Horinger New Area, significantly contributing to developing a high-end industrial ecosystem and transforming the local industrial structure.

The project's design anticipates future communication networks and business growth while adhering to green development principles. It integrates innovative energy-efficient technologies, including new power and air conditioning solutions, to enhance the use of renewable energy and reduce consumption and emissions. The center is poised to become a model for sustainable development in the region's digital economy.
