​Honduras Congress Delegation visits Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center

A Honduras Congress Delegation, led by Secretary-General Guillermo Antonio Zelaya Rosales, visited the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center in Shanghai to explore its offerings and discuss potential collaborations.

The center serves as the main driver of the spillover effect of the China International Import Expo (CIIE). In 2023, Honduras participated as the guest country of honor at the sixth CIIE, where the nation secured deals worth $95 million, enhancing its access to the Chinese market. This visit also marked a continuation of a relationship established a year ago when a group of Honduran journalists visited the center.

The delegation was warmly received by the center's operators, who then introduced their services for the CIIE and the center's innovative trade promotion model. The center representatives also expressed interest in procuring Honduran products, and invited Honduras to participate in the upcoming "Taste of China" Global Green Bean Competition.

Both parties expressed a strong commitment to deepening bilateral trade and investment cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, industry, and new energy, aiming to introduce more Honduran products to the Chinese market.

During their tour, the delegation also explored the Hongqiao International Coffee Hub, inspected the Honduran coffee beans that were exhibited, and learned about the "Silk Road E-commerce" and "Belt and Road" foreign anchor training programs. They also experienced China's innovative live-streaming sales model.
