The Global Exhibition CEO Shanghai Summit 2024 kicked off on June 6.

In his address at the event's opening ceremony, Liu Ping, deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai Municipal Government, emphasized Shanghai's longstanding commitment to the development of the exhibition industry.

According to Liu, a three-year action plan (2023-2025) eyeing to build Shanghai into a global exhibition hub was introduced last year. This year, the city unveiled new policies promoting the integration of exhibitions with the business, tourism, culture, and sports industries.

Liu said that going forward, Shanghai aims to enhance its status as an international exhibition hub by opening its door wider, enhancing brand building, and optimizing services, thereby fueling the high-quality development of the exhibition economy.

The Global Exhibition CEO Shanghai Summit is one of the three major global meetings in the exhibition industry. After years of development, it has become a major platform for Shanghai to establish itself as an international exhibition hub.

This year's conference, the event's eighth edition, gathers over 300 senior executives in the exhibition industry from around the world to discuss topics such as the challenges and opportunities brought on by the evolution of the Chinese consumer market and technology-driven innovation.

The event also witnessed the launch of the Shanghai Exhibition Assistant, a mini-program developed jointly by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and Digital Expo Company. The mini-program is designed to provide exhibition-related services to organizers and participants.
