The first JSQ-type Central Asia freight train carrying 286 domestically produced Chery vehicles departed from Hohhot International Land Port – the Shaliang Logistics Park – located in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on May 25.

The JSQ is a special type of train designed to carry automobiles and this one was heading to Almaty, the largest city in the Central Asian nation of Kazakhstan, via the Khorgos border crossing.

The departure marked Hohhot's inaugural operation of the JSQ-type Central Asia freight train, representing a new exploration in expanding transportation modes and developing a new track for commercial vehicle transportation.

The JSQ-type Central Asia train, loaded with Chery vehicles valued at approximately 29 million yuan ($4 million), offers a new method for transporting trade vehicles through Hohhot.

Compared with traditional container transport, the JSQ-type train simplifies loading processes and enhances transport safety and convenience. It features large single-batch capacity, high loading and unloading efficiency, lower transportation costs and strong transport stability and safety.

Prior to departure, coordinated efforts by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission, the Hohhot municipal bureau of commerce and Inner Mongolia Sinotrans Bonded Logistics Co formed a team.

With the support of various units including Saihan customs, the China Railway Hohhot Bureau and the Hohhot Railway Logistics Center, a specialized transportation plan was developed.

The plan covered all aspects – from vehicle entry and documentation to customs clearances and loading inspections – ensuring the train's smooth departure.
