Vasa Snow Angel final concludes, Wang Jin takes crown

The final of the Snow Angel of Vasaloppet China 2024 beauty contest wrapped up on Dec 21 in Changchun – capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province – and Wang Jin from Changchun Guanghua University emerged as the winner.

The event was launched as a flagship brand and is regarded as providing an important "cultural ambassador" for the upcoming 2024 China Changchun Jingyuetan Vasaloppet International Ski Festival.

This year's Vasa Snow Angel selection attracted enthusiastic participation from students of 33 universities in China's Northeast Jilin province, with about 6,000 individuals taking part in the preliminary rounds.

After 13 rounds of qualifying rounds, three rounds of semi-finals and an intensive eight-day closed training session, 23 contestants advanced to the finals.

In the end, Wang Jin from Changchun Guanghua University claimed the championship title. Zhang Yi from Jilin University took second place, while Zhou Xiuzhe from Jilin International Studies University came in third.

As the champion, Wang Jin will participate in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Changchun Jingyue Lake Vasaloppet International Ski Festival on Jan 4.

She will present a wreath to the skiing champion and represent Changchun and China in Sweden, taking part there in the local Vasaloppet Ice and Snow Sports Festival and cultural exchange activities.
