Jinan holds annual conference of China Ecological Civilization Forum

The Jinan Annual Conference of China Ecological Civilization Forum opened in Jinan on Oct 28.

Experts and scholars in the field of ecological civilization construction and environmental protection from all over the country discussed new concepts, goals, as well as the difficulties faced in ecological civilization construction during the event.

The annual two-day conference included the opening and closing ceremonies, ecological civilization demonstration construction forums and 10 sub-forums.

The sub-forums focused on topics such as regional recycling of regenerated water, regional ecological security and green development, river basin collaborative protection, green development and common prosperity in urban and rural areas, and the construction of "waste-free cities".

The forums were aimed at devising solutions and strategies to address these issues, promoting the integration of top-level design and grassroots innovation, combining scientific research with problem-solving, and bringing together a proactive government and effective market forces to contribute ideas and suggestions to ecological civilization construction.

The awards for the seventh batch of ecological civilization construction demonstration areas and the seventh batch of practice innovation bases for "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" were conferred during the forum.

The Jinan Declaration on Ecological Civilization was also released during the annual conference.

Since the first conference held in Suzhou, Jiangsu province in 2011, the China Ecological Civilization Forum has been held 10 times in cities including Zhuhai, Guangdong province, Chengdu, Sichuan province, Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, and Fuzhou, Fujian province.
