Jinan enters autumn harvest, sowing season

According to the Jinan municipal agriculture bureau, Jinan has as of Sept 30 harvested 1,045.93 square kilometers of autumn crops out of the total area of 2,731.33 sq km.

Jinan is planning to sow 2,228.67 sq km of wheat this year. Currently, 1,473 sq km has been sown.

To ensure a smooth harvest, Jinan has been enhancing its agricultural disaster prevention and mitigation work in recent years. For example, it has strengthened communication and coordination with meteorological, water resources, and emergency departments, and further improved the mechanisms for consultation, research, monitoring, early warning, and coordinated disposal.

In addition, Jinan will enhance the construction of the agricultural disaster monitoring and early warning system, improve monitoring equipment and technical means for agricultural land disasters, and improve the accuracy and timeliness of monitoring and early warning.
