Authorities in East China's Zhejiang province have introduced an action plan to promote the adoption of new energy vehicles in rural areas.
According to the plan, by the end of 2025, the province aims to have a total of over 2.3 million charging piles, with at least 900,000 in rural areas.
The action plan clearly outlines the acceleration of charging infrastructure construction, requiring all newly-built residential areas to have charging facilities or conditions for installation in fixed parking spaces. Moreover, for eligible highway service areas, the number of charging piles should reach 20 percent of the total number of parking spaces for small vehicles.
By the end of 2025, the province also strives to establish over 500 maintenance service centers for new energy vehicles.
The action plan will also include innovative promotional measures to encourage the adoption of new energy vehicles in rural areas, such as charging incentives, aiming to continuously stimulate the consumption potential in these regions.
