Qinghai’s GDP up 2.3% YoY in 2022

Qinghai's GDP reached 361.01 billion yuan in 2022, an increase of 2.3% compared to the previous year, according to the Qinghai Provincial Bureau of Statistics.

At the same time, the value added of the primary industry was 38.02 billion yuan, an increase of 4.5%; secondary industry 158.57 billion yuan, up 7.9%; and tertiary industry, 164.42 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.5%.

Industrial production continued to grow last year with strong momentum in high-tech manufacturing.

In 2022, the added value of the province's industries above designated size increased by 15.5% year-on-year.

Among the industries with distinctive advantages, high-tech manufacturing grew by 1.1 times, equipment manufacturing by 1.6 times, new materials industry 1.5 times, and the salt lake chemical industry by 31.3%.

In terms of product output, monocrystalline silicon increased by 6 times, polycrystalline silicon, by 1.6 times, carbon fiber by 1.5 times, and solar cells by 1.2 times.

In terms of operational efficiency, from January to November 2022, industrial enterprises above designated size achieved a profit of 77.99 billion yuan, an increase of 1.3 times compared to the previous year.

The profit margin of operating income was 19.0%, 7.3 percentage points higher than the previous year.
