Battery base to power Shaoxing's clean energy industry

Construction is well underway on the second phase of the BYD new energy power battery production base in the Shengzhou Economic Development Zone in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, local media reported on Feb 16.

According to Chen Bin, director of the construction team, the site has been leveled, and the foundation for the electrolyte block's individual factories has been laid.

The project has received a total investment of 6 billion yuan ($872.4 million) and is expected to have an annual output value of 10 billion yuan after it begins operating.

Local authorities said they are confident that the project will promote the development of related industrial chains and accelerate the construction of a green engine to drive high-quality development.
