China sent new satellites into space from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in North China's Shanxi province on Aug 10.

The satellites, including a Xi'an Aerospace Investment No 1 satellite (Jilin 1 Gaofen 03D09 satellite) and Yunyao 1 04-08 satellites, were launched by a Long March 6 carrier rocket at 12:50 pm Beijing Time and entered their planned orbit without a hitch.

The new batch of satellites is mainly used in fields such as commercial remote sensing and atmospheric imaging.

The Xi'an Aerospace Investment No 1 satellite is a light and small high-resolution optical remote sensing satellite. It was jointly developed by Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co and Xi'an Aerospace Investment Co in the city of Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

It has the characteristics of low costs, low power consumption, low weight and a high resolution.

Since the launch of the Xi'an Aviation Investment No 1 satellite construction project, Xi'an Aerospace Investment Co has joined hands with Xi'an Zhongke Tianta Technology Co to implement the planning, design, construction and post-operation and maintenance of the project.

The two companies have built the satellite remote sensing cloud platform. Through GIS, remote sensing, big data and other technologies, it is expected to provide government and industry users with remote sensing monitoring-based solutions. It will operate in the fields of environmental protection, forestry, water conservation, as well as emergency and disaster relief.

This will help Shaanxi improve the level of risk prediction and emergency management in related fields.
