Jinan, capital of Shandong province, announced that it was lowering its COVID-19 emergency response level from I to II on March 7, in response to improvements in the city's epidemic control situation.

Since the outbreak, Jinan has made great efforts in fighting the virus.

As of March 8, the city has reported no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 for 26 consecutive days. 43 out of the 47 confirmed patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

As of March 8, all industrial enterprises in the city had resumed work.

However, the city will continue with epidemic prevention and control as the global outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia worsens.

The emphasis of the city's fight will shift toward preventing imported cases of the virus in the months to come.
