The leading group for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, issued a document on the promotion of a newly developed mobile app on Feb 26.

The app mainly focuses on the management of people's personal information, especially travel history, in an effort to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to the document, people who live or travel in the city are required to create accounts and report their travel history and health conditions on the app.

Government departments and public institutions are required to send servicemen to carry out inspections at the entrances and exits of public places throughout the city, including railway stations, passenger transportation centers, and airports.

Every user of the app will receive a unique health QR code. To enter or exit public places, they must present the code to the servicemen on duty. The servicemen will take people's temperatures and record their information on the app.
