Boasting rich natural resources, magnificent sceneries and a variety of rare wildlife, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is a magnet for researchers, photographers and travelers from all around the world.
However, with worsening global warming, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, known as the "third pole" of the world, is witnessing its glaciers melt.
With its fragile ecological environment, the plateau is vital to the planet's natural system.
And the Sanjiangyuan area (literally sources of three rivers) in Qinghai province, located at the hinterland of the plateau, holds paramount significance in local ecological conservation efforts.
