Changchun Imperial Garden is located in the southwest of people's square and the north side of cultural square, Changchun. The whole terrain of the garden is semi-circular, with the total area of 16.4 hectares.

Back in the day, the garden was part of Apricot Blossom Village from the late 19th century to the 1930s. It was named after the large quantities of apricot flowers planted in the place, and was once the earliest scenic resort in Changchun city. It was formerly slated for a "palace land" during the Manchukuo period, namely the imperial garden, and was rebuilt by Changchun municipal government in June 2006.

The thousands of apricot flowers in the garden constitute a special scenic spot known as "apricot blossom forest". In every spring, the garden enters its most beautiful and romantic season, with thousands of apricot flowers in full bloom, fragrant and pleasing.
