Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved as a state-level development zone in February 2000. It is the most concentrated industrial base for aeronautics, aerospace, machinery, and electric processing in Guizhou province.
Located in southern Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, the zone covers a developed area of 10.13 square kilometers and is home to a population of over 149,000. It is only 5 kilometers from the city downtown and 10 kilometers from Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport.
The development zone features big data, high-end manufacturing, and "big health" (medicine and healthcare) industries. The high-end manufacturing engineering machinery, motive power machinery, machine tools, electro-technical machines, accessories of planes, fittings for automobiles and motorcycles and industrial basic parts.
Adhering to the Western Development Campaign, the zone encourages the establishment of enterprises with high economical profit, high additional value, and highly intensive technology.
There are eight main roads and branch lines in and out of the development zone. Among them, the high-grade southwest ring road is an important channel that goes through Guangdong and Guangxi to the Pacific Ocean. As for railway transportation, the zone is only 2 kilometers from Guiyang South Station, the largest railway station in southwest China.
According to the estimated statistics of 2018, the zone's regional GDP is 13.5 billion yuan, a 13 percent increase from the previous year. The industrial added value recorded a total of 3.35 billion yuan, rising by 13.3 percent. The fiscal revenue reached 1.53 billion yuan, a 10.5 percent higher year-on-year increase.
