5 LNG from Arctic reaches Rudong

The first direct shipment of LNG from Russia's Arctic region to Asia was delivered to Yangkou port PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Receiving Station, Rudong county in Jiangsu province on July 19, 2018, the first time the gas has arrived in Asia directly via the Northern Sea Route since the Yamal LNG plant came online in December.

The Yamal LNG project is China's first large-scale energy project implemented in Russia after the introduction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Yangkou Port received 78 LNG container ships in 2018, with its LNG handling capacity reaching 5.94 million tons, up 31.6 percent and 35.9 percent year-on-year, respectively.

6 Rudong entrepreneur honored as advanced individual

Xue Jiping, chairman of Zhongtian Technology Group Ltd in Rudong county was honored as an advanced individual in Jiangsu province last year in celebration of the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up.

Over the past years, Xue led the company to push forward transformation and upgrading, making Zhongtian a leader in China's photoelectric cable industry.

With 67 branches across China, India and Brazil, Zhongtian sold its products in 147 countries and areas. Its annual revenue reached over 50 billion yuan last year.
