More than 150 motocross riders gathered at Yongkang city in East China's Zhejiang province to compete for the China Motocross Championship this past weekend.

Racing participants, aged from 20 to 35, engaged in the challenging national event for off-road and overland driving. Riders are divided into different groups based on their age, as well as the type of motor vehicles they drive, according to the event organizers.

Before the final race on Sunday, riders had competed for qualifying rounds both Friday and Saturday. To further promote the spirit of sportsmanship, a mini-marathon also was meticulously designed to coincide with the event on Saturday.

It was the third time this kind of event has been held at Longshan Town, Yongkang.

"We try our best to help participants feel the charm of outdoor sports while making more locals and internationals get involved," said event organizers.

The competitiveness and popularity of the event is further highlighted by the fact that more international drivers ranked into the final round even though most of the top places were dominated by Chinese riders.

The competition was co-hosted by the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China and the Yongkang government.
