The Zhangjiang Theatre Valley opened in August 2017 and has quickly become a cultural landmark in Zhangjiang Science City in Pudong New Area.
The valley was built on the site of the Shanghai Museum of Animation and is expected to serve as a place for young people to both enjoy and take part in dramatic arts.
In collaboration with the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, the valley has brought in many excellent plays and dramas.
This April, it started a year-long season featuring folk operas, classic dramas, musicals and art exhibitions, with the aim of satisfying local white-collar workers' needs for high art and making Zhangjiang a good place in which to work and live.
