BEIJING — The central government has launched a nationwide spring semester inspection to prevent and control security risks in schools.
The inspection, initiated by the Education Supervision Committee of the State Council, will focus on local governments' promotion of education, improvement of school security risk prevention systems, and the management of areas surrounding campuses in their respective jurisdictions.
Members of the Leading Party Members Group of the Ministry of Education will lead six major groups to 11 provincial areas to supervise the inspection.
According to the plan, provincial, municipal, and county-level education agencies should conduct checks, while each school was ordered to undertake a self-assessment.
The spring semester usually runs from March to mid July.
