Spring Festival temple fair to open in Hohhot

The 11th Dazhao Temple Fair will be held in Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region from Feb 21 to Mar 2, according to a press conference held on Feb 10.

It will mainly be held in Dazhao Temple, the first Lamaism temple at Yuquan district in the city.

Aimed at displaying the folk customs, ethnic culture and local tourism, the ten-day temple fair includes an opening ceremony and 63 events with 10 themes including harmonious, charming and energetic Yuquan district.

Performances including paper cutting, Allegro, and sugar painting and exhibitions on traditional ethnic costumes will be held during the temple fair.

Inheritors of intangible cultural heritages will be invited to show their unique skills at the fair.

In addition, online events such as live broadcast and AR red packets will be staged during the temple fair.

The local government is also working with travel agencies to include the temple fair into their travel routes to attract more visitors.

During the event, tourist attractions at Yuquan district like Zhaojun Museum will be open to the public for free.

These efforts are expected to help Dazhao Temple Fair gain more influence.
