Nanyang hosts floral art competition to welcome spring

The 2018 Nanyang Floral Art Competition, co-sponsored by the Henan Floral Art Association and the Nanyang Forestry Bureau ended on Feb 3, setting the year off with a fragrant beginning.

Participants ranged from local famous floral artists to budding gardeners. The 40 pieces displayed by them were integrated with diversified seasonal elements to bring about a visual feast that is both classic and unique for the sake of the Nanyang audience.

After 15 days of collection, exhibition and selection, Story of Time by Soft Time Space was awarded the top honor, with four other works also being recognized.

Story of Time, displayed by Soft Time Space, was the winner of the 2018 Nanyang Floral Art Competition's special award. Green leaves are used to represent the vitality of spring with yellow leaves for autumn's decay. The creator says it's an illustration of the passing time.

This piece of work is named as Updates. The creator uses bright colors to indicate the vigor of the spring, as the branches and flowers are posed as if to hug it.
