Barcelona, Nice welcome promotional team

A promotional team of three people from Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Bureau recently visited two European cities to promote the coastal city's MICE industry (meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition).

The first stop was Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain, which also boasts advanced MICE industry where the Smart City Expo World Congress, smartphone shows and numerous medicine exhibitions are held each year.

The promotional team visited Catalonian Travel Bureau of Spain, Barcelona Convention Bureau and Fujian Chamber of Commerce in Catalonia to make exchanges with them.

The team introduced the development of MICE industry in Xiamen and the city's advantages in hosting exhibitions and conferences and also invited them to attend the International Exhibition Week held in November.

A strategic cooperation relation is expected to be established between MICE enterprises and professional buyers during the exhibition week.

The Fujian Chamber of Commerce in Catalonia said that they will organize the Chinese entrepreneurs in Spain to attend the 2018 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in September and promote the cooperation between the two countries in trade and commerce.

Nice in France was their second stop and they held promotional conferences with Nice municipal government, Nice Foreign Affairs Office, Nice Convention and Visitors Bureau, Acropolis Convention and Exhibition Center and local enterprises.

Representatives from Nice Convention and Visitors Bureau and Acropolis Convention and Exhibition Center introduced the situations of Nice's MICE industry and the center's experience in promotion and management mode respectively.

The promotional team played Xiamen's promotional video to show them the beautiful city and then detailed the advantages and achievements of the city's MICE industry.

The team also invited Nice's relevant government agencies to attend the 2018 CIFIT to introduce their own city at the event.
