Hohhot holds winter fishing festival

The second Hohhot Winter Fishing Tourism Festival opened in Xindianzi town, Helingeer county in Hohhot, on Jan 19.
With the support of the city’s tourism authority, media watchdog and the government of the district, the festival was organized by the district’s tourism authority.
The festival featured various activities that were held on ice such as a traditional Mongolian chess game, archery competition, and a modeling show.
The first fish was auctioned on site and the money for the auction will be donated to support students from less fortune families in the district.
Traditional Chinese art also featured during the festival, including calligraphy, painting and paper cutting.
The festival will run until Jan 21.
