The local environmental sanitation bureau in Hohhot recently offered 397 publically-owned houses to sanitation workers, with the support of the city’s housing management authority, according to a news release by a local media organization.

With the intention of demonstrating gratitude to the sanitation workers who have worked for more than 10 years or received honors from Hohhot government, the workers are being allowed to choose their houses, while others will be assigned housing at random.

The publically-owned houses are being offered to sanitation workers at a low rent and without property costs.

Hohhot environmental sanitation bureau has offered houses to sanitation workers since 2003. At present, more than 700 sanitation workers have been housed under the policy.
