A glance at Hohhot’s distribution centers after Singles Day

It was late at night on Nov 16 and the office lights of the distribution centers at a logistics park in Hohhot were still on full blast. Employees of Yunda Express and Zto Express were busy dealing with millions of parcels after the Singles Day shopping event on Nov 11.

At least 17 million packages were handled by regional postal and courier companies between Nov 11 and 16, the post department of Inner Mongolia autonomous region said.

The daily volume in Hohhot hit 810,000, an increase of 61.6 percent year-on-year. More than 4,000 workers from 21 distribution centers in the city saw their busiest time after the shopping spree.
