Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yueju Opera Company

The Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yueju Opera Company was set up in May 1984. The Company has accumulated many excellent repertoire programs in the last 10 years. For example, "The Romance of the West Chamber 'won the 4th Wenhua grand prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture, the prize of China Traditional Operas Society and the best repertoire prize at the 3rd China Theatrical Festival." Lu You and Tang Wan, won the 3rd Wenhua new repertoire prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture, "A Story of Pipa" won the best repertoire prize at the 4th China Theatrical Festival and the popular comedy "A Wrong Match won the 5th Wenhua new repertoire prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture.

The Company has visited Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions many times and paid visits to the United States, Singapore, Spain, Holland, France, Belgium, Japan and Thailand.

The Company has won more than 100 prizes in national competitions and provincial performances. Mao Weitao, artist of Yueju Opera, won the Wenhua performing prize twice awarded by the Ministry of Culture and the Plum Blossom prize issued by the Chinese Dramatists' Association. Other artists of the Company Chen Huiling, Dong Ked, Fang Xuewen, He Ying, He Saifei, Hong Ying, Yan Jia, Jiang Yao, Huang Yiqun, Yu Huizhen, He Jionghua, Shao Yan, Xu Aiwu, Wu Chunyan, and Chen Yina won the grand prize either at national or provincial performances. The Company has many choreographer-directors, musicians and stage artists enjoying the 1st grade professional title like Yang Xiaoqing, Gu Dachang, Lan Ling, Zhou Zhengping and wang Wenyao.
