Fujian-based Impression Dahongpao began trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Dec 22, a milestone for the company, whose flagship product, Impression Dahongpao, has become a landmark of Fujian's cultural tourism.
Co-directed by Zhang Yimou, Wang Chaoge, and Fan Yue, this outdoor performance is staged against the mist-shrouded, jagged peaks of Wuyi Mountain. Since its sold-out premiere on March 29, 2010, the show features a unique rotating grandstand that guides viewers through scenes of tea-making craftsmanship and cultural rituals.
Through periodic content refreshes and theme-driven initiatives, Impression Dahongpao has maintained its tea-centric narrative modern and engaging. The listing reflects the broader expansion of Fujian's live-performance sector, marking a new era for the province's cultural tourism landscape.
The company's newest venture, Moon Over Wuyi, extends its landscape-based narrative and complements its existing portfolio of tea-themed hotels and tourism towns.
As Zheng Bin, general manager of Impression Dahongpao, noted, the company's public debut marks a strategic milestone. Future growth will be anchored in original content and cultural revitalization, transforming static heritage into dynamic experiences. "We want to bring history to life and ensure a deeper tourism experience," Zheng said.
