The 2025 China-BRICS Science and Innovation Incubation Park for the New Era Collaboration and Exchange Event was recently held at the Xiamen International Conference Center Hotel.
The event brought together nearly 40 representatives from 11 countries, including Chen Jingquan, minister-counsellor at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of South Africa, and Huo Hongwei, director of the Division of Multilateral Cooperation and Mega Science Programs at the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology.
During the event, organizers highlighted 10 landmark achievements, spanning platform development, collaborative exchanges, cross-border incubation, and service support.
Chen noted that the park's experience provides tangible examples for exploring new models of industrial productivity among BRICS countries and emphasized that the Chinese Embassy in South Africa will continue to support closer cooperation between the park and South African institutions.
The park also announced plans to establish a fund, with an initial scale of 50 million yuan ($7.1 million), to support BRICS science and innovation incubation initiatives. Programs aimed at young innovators, including the BRICS Young Science and Innovation Ambassadors Exchange Program and the 2025 BRICS Cross-Border Innovation Accelerator Program, were also launched.
Xiamen will continue advancing the park's development through a network of project incubation and policy support, further strengthening the city's role as an international innovation hub within the BRICS framework.
