An exhibit of traditional Chinese paintings by artist Liu Liyong and his 21 students has opened at the Shijiazhuang Art Museum in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province.
Titled Bihu Yingxue, meaning "clear lake reflecting snow", the show will run until Dec 8. It features 245 works, including 169 pieces by Liu and 76 by his students.
The event was organized by the Hebei Artists Association, the Shijiazhuang Art Museum, and Liu Liyong's art studio.
Liu, a national first-class artist and vice-chairman of the Hebei Artists Association, is known for blending the grandeur of northern Chinese landscapes with the grace of southern scenery, creating traditional works with a modern spirit.
His 21 students, all regarded as rising talents, display strong technical skills and individual creativity.
The exhibition includes landscapes and flower-and-bird paintings, about 40 percent of which have previously been shown in national-level art exhibits.
Notable works include Liu's Xiyue Monument and Early Spring at Laolongtou, which were recognised at the 13th and 14th National Art Exhibitions.
A local cultural official said the exhibit underscores the artists' shared commitment to excellence and serves as a platform for dialogue among painters and art enthusiasts, helping to promote the development of traditional Chinese painting.
