The Ansteel Museum is an industrial museum that chronicles the development of China’s steel industry since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, as well as the evolution of Ansteel—widely regarded as the “eldest son of the Republic’s steel industry”. The museum comprises an exhibition hall and an expansive display area, featuring a rich collection of significant historical artifacts.
This modern museum is housed within two preserved industrial landmarks of the Ansteel Group: the No 1 Blast Furnace, built in 1919 based on a Japanese design of the same capacity (decommissioned in 2005) and the No 2 Sintering Workshop, constructed in 1953. The No 1 Blast Furnace has been rated as a national treasure and one of the museum’s most iconic exhibits. Together, these industrial relics bear witness to the rise and transformation of Ansteel.
Through a combination of historical artifacts, scale models, photographs, and multimedia displays, the museum’s permanent exhibition offers a multi-dimensional perspective on Ansteel’s legacy. The exhibition is organized into 11 themed chapters, including “The Eldest Son of Chinese Iron and Steel Industry”, “Vicissitudes of the Years”, “The Ansteel Constitution”, and “Building the Ansteel Brand”.
Additionally, beyond the indoor display areas, there is a Steel Park offering an immersive historical experience, featuring Steel Avenue, Pentagram Square, and Ginkgo Square, as well as some industrial cultural relics including ore samples, steam locomotives, green trains, and a Type 59 main battle tank.
