Now is the season for shiitake mushrooms to hit market. On March 12, the State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company organized a Communist Party member service team to conduct a safety inspection for potential electricity hazards at Zhang Xiaoni's family farm in Zhaomiao town, Taihe, Anhui province.
Zhang Xiaoni told the service team that the process from the cultivation of mushroom spawn to the fruiting and removal of the spawn from the racks takes 11 months. Mushroom cultivation demands strict adherence to environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation in the field. This is crucial during key stages like strain cultivation, spawn fermentation, and fruiting management. A stable power supply is of utmost importance. During summer, it's even more necessary to conduct continuous water spray irrigation and moisturizing in the greenhouse for over 10 hours. Zhang Xiaoni said "The entire process of mushroom cultivation relies heavily on electrical equipment. Ventilation equipment ensures proper air circulation, preventing the breeding of diseases and pests. The sprinkler irrigation system provides adequate moisture for the mushrooms, while a stable electricity supply is the key to a bountiful harvest".
