On March 3, the Shanxi delegation to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) boarded a high-speed train from Taiyuan to Beijing to join NPC deputies from across the nation in contributing insights at the 2025 two sessions.
In preparation for this significant event, the NPC deputies from Shanxi have focused on major issues concerning Shanxi's high-quality development and modernization. They have conducted thorough grassroots outreach and research, solicited public opinion, and meticulously prepared a series of motions that align with Shanxi's development needs and reflect the concerns of the people.
During the train journey, they engaged in lively discussions on topics such as the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, the development of emerging industries, rural vitalization, and social welfare.
"This year, I am bringing a motion to enhance the rural vitalization in remote mountainous areas. By developing specialized industries, we can support the implementation of the 'special' and 'premium' agricultural strategies to promote comprehensive rural vitalization," said Lei Maoduan, Party secretary of Goudong village in Sanluli town, Yanhu district, Yuncheng.
Shanxi has built over 260 intelligent coal mines, accounting for more than one-third of the national total and more than any other province in the country. "We hope to continue increasing support for intelligent coal mine construction and adhere to a path of high-end, diversified, and low-carbon development," said Zhang Shili, deputy chief of the equipment department at Changcun Coal Mine, Lu'an Chemical Group.
United in their mission, Shanxi's NPC deputies are confident and determined to share Shanxi's stories, showcase its reforms and innovations, and contribute to the advancement of Chinese-style modernization and the economic and social development of the province.
