Locajoy Park blends Lantern Festival traditions & animal education

Locajoy Theme Park in Chongqing's Yongchuan district celebrated Lantern Festival on Wednesday by intertwining traditional Chinese customs with animal education.

Visitors got to make classic glutinous rice balls and hand-feed them to the park's animal residents. They also put their cleverness to the test with lantern riddles, a common Lantern Festival tradition.

Lantern Festival is a celebration typically observed on the 15th day of the first lunar month, marking the end of Spring Festival. On this day, people gather to appreciate lantern displays, eat yuanxiao or tangyuan (glutinous rice balls), solve riddles and commemorate family reunions.
