North China's Jilin province witnessed a remarkable surge in tourism during the 2025 Spring Festival holiday. According to data from Ctrip, the province's travel orders increased by 560 percent year over year; outbound travel orders rose by 84 percent, while inbound tourism saw a 71 percent growth. Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Beijing, and Shenzhen were major sources of visitors.

Changchun Ice and Snow New World experienced an 89.8-percent increase in visitors and a 170.8-percent surge in revenue. Jilin also had three spots among China's top 10 ski resorts by skiing mileage, with Beidahu Ski Resort ranking first nationwide.

Jilin launched the 2024-2025 Ice and Snow Consumption Voucher program to boost winter tourism. It distributed 80,000 vouchers, generating 8.7 million yuan ($1.2 million) in redemptions and driving 31 million yuan in spending across more than 80 cultural and tourism businesses, including ski resorts, scenic spots, restaurants, accommodations, and retail.

Cultural activities also thrived. Libraries and cultural centers hosted 493 public events, engaging nearly 600,000 participants. Museums held 171 exhibitions, attracting 360,300 visitors and showcasing Jilin's rich heritage alongside its booming winter tourism.
