Fujian province continues to promote the high-quality development of its transportation system. It was the first in the nation to achieve the connectivity of high-speed rail to all cities, highways to all counties, main roads to all towns, and bus services to all villages.

The province boasts a total highway mileage of 6,168 kilometers, with 82.8 percent of rural towns, 85.8 percent of key tourist sites, and 100 percent of major industrial parks and transportation hubs within a 30-minute drive to highways.

National and provincial roads exceed 11,100 kilometers, covering major industrial bases and scenic areas. Rural roads span 98,000 kilometers, enhancing connectivity and prosperity in rural areas. Innovative practices like "road chief system" for rural roads and disaster insurance have been promoted nationally.

Fujian's modern port cluster includes 468 productive berths, 208 of which accommodate vessels over 10,000 metric tons, capable of accommodating the world's largest container ships, tankers, cruise ships, and bulk carriers. In 2023, the province's ports handled 7.5 billion tons of cargo and 18.18 million TEUs, ensuring stable industrial and supply chains.

All cities with administrative districts feature comprehensive passenger transport hubs. All airports, high-speed rail stations, and passenger terminals are integrated with highway passenger stations.

Urban centers have public transport stations within 500 meters. Over 90 percent of buses are new energy vehicles, placing Fujian at the forefront nationwide. Fuzhou and Xiamen have subways, while the Wuyi New Area has light rail. Islands with over 100 residents have transport terminals, and those with over 500 residents have ferry services.

Aiming for a strong transportation system, Fujian is striving to build a high-quality railway network, inclusive road network, world-class port cluster, coordinated airport group, robust oil and gas pipeline network, and a globally connected postal and express delivery network.
