The First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University

Founded in 1937, the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University is the first public Western medicine hospital in Fujian province. It has grown into a top-tier, comprehensive Grade III Level A hospital (the highest classification for hospitals in China), integrating medical care, education, and research.

The hospital has consistently received an A+ rating in the national performance evaluation of tertiary public hospitals, placing 32nd nationwide in 2023. It also ranked 33rd in the 2023 National Research Hospital Rankings, and is recognized as a high-level hospital in Fujian and a designated hospital for enhancing difficult disease treatment capabilities.

In 2023, it managed over 2.41 million outpatient and emergency visits, nearly 140,000 inpatient admissions, and over 140,000 surgeries. The staff exceeds 5,200, including 765 with senior professional titles, and over 85 percent of physicians holding doctoral or master's degrees.

The hospital has 54 clinical departments and 11 medical and technical departments. It leads in areas such as rare diseases, neurology, neurosurgery, and plastic surgery. It is also equipped with advanced facilities like Da Vinci surgical robots, PET/MR, and 3.0T MRI.
