As of Dec 8, the Ereenhot Border Inspection Station, part of the Inner Mongolia Exit-Entry Border Inspection General Station, has processed 2.44 million border passenger crossings, a 78.78 percent increase over last year. This figure sets a new annual record for Ereenhot port.
Ereenhot port is the largest land port in China that is open to Mongolia. It features road and rail border crossings and is a crucial bridge for trade and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
This year, there has been a significant increase in the number of foreign tourists, business visitors, and those visiting family and friends. The station handled an average of 7,100 border passenger crossings daily, with the highest single-day total exceeding 12,000.

In response to the rapid increase in border traffic, the station has upgraded its inspection equipment and developed the "border inspection pass" reservation service platform. This innovation allows for pre-reporting and appointment-based clearance, facilitating swift passage for tour groups and freight vehicles.
To effectively manage peak traffic periods, the station has implemented "segmented flow control" and "extended clearance hours", which help travelers plan their trips and avoid peak times.
External inspectors have also been added to provide guidance and policy information, enhancing the overall efficiency of border clearance through high-quality inspection services.
